A Child's Touch

Well, we are home from the hospital, and Roy appears to be doing well. The morning began like this: Jack left the house this morning at 5:00 to pick his parents up and take them for the appointment at 6:30 at Florida Hospital Altamonte. Roy was taken back at about 7:30, where they did the liver biopsy. I arrived with the kids around 9:00, and Roy was brought to recovery about 30 minutes later. Roy awoke to have Sheila, Sheryl, Jack, myself and the kids surrounding him with love. The picture I posted was a quick one I grabbed on my cell phone of Colby holding Pappaw's hand. It both brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. The sweet, innocent touch of a child. There has to be the presence of the Lord in that. My Colby is a very tender hearted child, and seeing his Pappaw like that is tremendously difficult for him. He kept asking what the nurses were doing, and why. I sometimes feel children are so much more perceptive than we give them credit for. Research says that human touch has healing properties to it, and I believe Colby's touch and prayers healed all of our hearts a little today.

We left Roy and Shi shortly ago in their home, recovering both physically and emotionally. The road we are on might not be fun, but family is a good thing, and if anything good is coming of this, it is the ability to spend a little more time together than we usually do. What a blessing in disguise.
